2016 Mazda CX-9 Earns Finalist Spots in World Car and World Design Awards

One of our favorite things about offering Mazda cars for sale and the areas we serve is introducing people to the incredible styling and amazing driving experience they will get in every Mazda model. And one Mazda model has been recognized on the world stage — it’s the 2016 Mazda CX-9, and it earned a spot as a finalist in the 2017 World Car of the Year and in the 2017 World Car Design of the Year awards.

The 2016 Mazda CX-9 flaunts an exterior design that catches eyes, turns heads, and grabs attention here at our Mazda dealership near Westminster, MD, as well as around the world. Its styling is derived from the automaker’s “Soul of Motion” philosophy which emphasizes its pure, clean lines and athletically sculpted curves. Its interior follows suit, offering luxurious indulgence and sophisticated comfort from its available leather and genuine rosewood trim to its advanced connectivity and safety technologies.

The Mazda CX-9 looks at once poised for attack and peacefully composed, even when it’s not moving. When it moves it does so with power and grace.  Its potent 250-horsepower, 2.5-liter engine, and available all-wheel drive system come together with its suspension architecture and steering componentry within the automaker’s Jinba Ittai philosophy to make driver and car feel as one.

“We couldn’t be more honored to have CX-9 recognized for two World Car of the Year categories… Last year was a magical moment for the entire Mazda family when MX-5 won, and we’re proud to be among the small number of vehicles voted to the finalists lists from markets all over the world,” said Masahiro Moro, President and CEO of Mazda North American Operations.
